This was my 2011 thesis film, Once Upon a Winter Wood! It was made over the course of 8 months, pretty much solo (well, 3D thanks to Olivia and Jong Ho, some of the painting by :5uJin:, and loaaaads of tech help!).
It was drawn "tradigitally", which is to say, I drew it by hand, but I drew it on the cintiq, animating in Toon Boom/Harmony and compositing in Premier Pro. The textures are scanned felt, the backgrounds are gouache and fancy japanese papers. It's been in a few festivals since I finished it last year, mostly in Europe (Italy and the UK seem to like it much more than my home country!) and Dreamworks was nice enough to include in their best student films of 2011 showcase.
Part of me is really proud of it, and the other part can't see anything but horrifying and glaring errors that make me want to gouge my eyes out... I guess that's how it always is.
The score is by the amazing Olivemusique and a license fee has been paid for its use.

The texture over the characters is scanned felt, and the texture of the backgrounds is because they were painted in gouache onto huge sheets of linen paper. The CG book was done by my roommate (in return, I did the voice acting for her thesis film!).
